Massage Therapy

Massage therapy can address a variety of conditions as well as promote relaxation.

I graduated from the 2200 hour massage therapy program at the West Coast College of Massage Therapy in Victoria during which time I accumulated over 550 hours of clinical experience, working with patients from all walks of life. Some areas of special interest for me during my time in school were working with pregnant patients, and those experiencing stress, anxiety and depression. I also enjoy working with injury rehabilitation, and prevention, and with patients experiencing chronic pain.

My treatment style is focused on general relaxation, moving at a slow, rhythmical pace. It includes working with breath, myofascial release, Swedish massage blended with deeper modalities such as trigger point release, as well as the incorporation of facilitated stretching, and gentle joint mobilizations.

I believe that massage facilitates the body’s own natural healing. In order to help you manage pain between visits, I love to suggest simple homecare strengthening exercises and/or stretches as well as hydrotherapy to help increase the lasting benefits of your treatment.

Outside the treatment room I enjoy trail running, yoga, and weight training, as well as camping, being near any body of water, and spending time with my family.
